FASHION RENDEZ-VOUS
From 1 July - 1 September 2008, French Rendezvous will metamorphose into a national "Fashion Rendezvous" event. Across Australia's six capital cities an exciting and new program of French Lingerie, swimwear and
pret-a-porter as well as perfumes, cosmetics and beauty products awaits the Australian public and fashion industry insiders.
|
“The recent success of the French Rendezvous Lingerie Gala Series and the strong industry support of the expansion to a full "Fashion Rendezvous"
to be exposed nationally indicates strong growth for the event and the industry,” said Mr Wren.
While comparatively still in its infancy, the Fashion Rendezvous ’ move also aims to encourage designers, buyers and media (both domestic and
international), to view Lingerie, swimwear and Pret-a-Porter events in Sydney as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for their
bi-annual fashion marketing and business to business activity.
|
Detailed event information, venue configuration and sales information for the
forthcoming Fashion Rendezvous 2008 will be available from mid February and will be announced through the event’s eNewsletter and
website.
Eponimo Communication and French Rendezvous CEO Digby Wren today confirmed that
the new plans followed detailed discussions with the industry, partners and also internally with Eponimo Communication’s Paris offices.
The overwhelming view is that, for future growth and development of the event and of French "Brands" in the Asia Pacific the move sends
out a very consistent message – come to French Rendezvous and Fashion Rendezvous events and see the many fresh and innovative talents that France has to offer the
Asia Pacific region,”.
For the first time Fashion Rendezvous will be presenting the latest French fashion designer collections to some of
Australia's most significant buyers, media and key industry influencers. Although the Fashion Rendezvous will be a industry event it will be open
to registered buyers, agents, media, stylists and other fashion industry representatives. To be held across all capital cities, the official three-day
schedule will feature designers in on-site and off-site Collection Shows, dedicated Agent and Designer Suites and our new initiative - The Lingerie
fittings and womens day events in up-market shopping centers such as Collins St, QVB in Sydney and the Gold Coasts golden mile.
Eponimo Communications has enjoyed a professional and progressive relationship with the French Government in the creation of French Rendezvous
and its continued efforts to market and promote French ready-to-wear fashion businesses. The 2 year funding contract with the French Government
and FRV's organisers concluded last season and open and constructive discussions have taken place over future fashion initiatives.
Mr Wren added, “We will continue to work closely with the French Government to continue to drive outcomes for French fashion businesses, whether
that be at French Rendezvous, Rendez-vous-Sydney or at any number of internationally significant events that can justifiably provide good return for any initiative or
investment”.
Eponimo Communication is committed to providing the very best ‘business-to-business’ platform for French ready-to-wear fashion industry
and believes that the move to a national program will provide greater opportunities for participating designers and will be easily accessible to
influential domestic and Asia Pacific buyers and media. The move is backed by the event’s corporate sponsors.
