2008 will see a festival program of over 150 events running from July 1 to August 1 in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

French Rendez-vous CEO Digby Wren announced the expanded program in Paris during the 2007 Rugby World Cup, revealing a program of high profile events including; French fashion designer shows, two touring companies of contemporary French music, a film and live music extraveganza, CineMax and, a series of art exhibitions and events from contemporary French artists.

French Rendez-vous 2008 will host a range of signature events including French flavoured arts, cuisine, sport, entertainment activities, trade fairs, as well as a Francophile lecture series and a commerce orientated seminar programme. M. Wren stated that : " to set the scene for a month of French festive flair, there will be a Grand Opening in Sydney on July 1st followed by an exclusive Fashion Gala in Melbourne on July 14th.

The programme of French flavours will include “GastronomiCity” across a range of metropolitan restaurants enticing food lovers to wine and champagne tastings with highly regarded chefs and wine and food writers.

Trade expos on selected weekends will offer retailers and buyers a view of the very latest French lingerie and and fashion accessory brands, the best in designer ready to wear and the finest French cosmetics, beauty products and perfumes. French Rendezvous EXPO's will be open to the public every day 10am-5pm.

French Rendez-vous has grown into a major national festival over the last few years and is a wonderful excuse to indulge in one of the world’s most pervasive style cultures. "Nothing French is really foreign to us but there is always a delightful engagement with French culture and Rendez-vous is when we want Australians to indulge and enjoy something French,” founder and CEO Digby Wren said.
