xavier veilhan’s show in the garden and chateau of versailles
Xavier Veilhan is having a show of his work around the gardens and inside the main chateau of Versailles. If you are in paris I highly recommend going to see it before it comes down on December 13th. Xavier is one of my favorite artists and his show really blew me away.

Kid sister of the Experimental ultra-select cocktail club in Saint Germain
Remember the Experimental cocktail Club and the Curio Parlor? Two « speakeasies », those small pocket-sized clubs with high-end profiles and prohibition atmospheres serving suitably small potions? A new kid sister even more glamorous than her elders opened doors a few days ago is definitely the chic spot for the holiday season!
Who goes there? Publishers, writers, Saint-Germain-des-Prés locals and Left Bank demoiselles who check out the moveable feast during the week or before running off to party at the chic Montana until the end of the night.
Experimental cocktail Club
10 € per cocktail. Starts at 7pm.

Visit Paris Unnusual Grocery store in Paris Luxembourg
Just behind the place du Panthéon, in a small side street, the journey has begun! In this 13th century building, A Loghja(The vault) has just opened. Push open the doors of this former bookshop and inhale the wonderful scents of Corsican products. Here, everything is Corsican, from the charcuterie, to the cheese including the jams. Nicolas Caumer owner of an eponymous grocery store in Calvi, wanted to showcase Corsica through this Parisian outlet. All the products are authentic Corsican. The famous Pierlovisi charcuterie (starting at 36 € le kilo), Brocciu from Sisti and Savelli (6€90), Canarelli wines(6€50) or jams made from Corsican chestnuts (4€90). And for a « spuntinu » the Corsican picnic, settle at one of the ten-person communal tables in the backroom of the boutique in front of a tasty plate of charcuterie or cheese (12 €) with a nice glass of Peraldi (5 €). Close your eyes and you well get a sense of the « maquis », the famed Corsican countryside.

garance doré » Made In Paris
I lived in the south of France for a longtime. The weather was beautiful. I was young. I was in love. I had a scooter, amazing friends, and all was well. I tore through tons of magazines. I loved fashion, but it still felt a bit far.
But I gotta add, the simple fact that I would walk around in heels in the middle of the day would make people turn and look. Suddenly the boys felt it was ok to whistle at me. That’ll turn you off a little. So I learned to dress myself relatively simply, just to avoid the hassle. I still felt like one of the best dressed girls on the street, and I was always looking for stylish friends, exciting boutiques, and inspiring women.
The day I first arrived in Paris was a true shock. I had been plenty of times before… but to live there, it’s a totally different thing. Suddenly, me, who was relatively at ease with my own style, I felt like I got my thought of “one of the best dressed girls on the street” shoved back down my throat. Good lesson.
I met impeccably stylish girls who were relaxed, cool, unique. Girls with the most amazing looks. The most resourceful girls who could find YSL at Zara prices. Super feminine girls that never asked for a second, “What’ll they think of me?”
For the first few months, I felt like a rough draft of a woman. But when you love fashion, you learn quick.
And today, it seems only natural for me to leave my house in 5 inch heels or in a bustier in the middle of the day, or even a shirt disguised as a dress, and yet none of it even raises the eyebrow of my newspaper guy on the street and so I wonder…
Has anything really changed? What gives breath to fashion when you live far from the fashion capitals of the world?

Animal House

What’s a sweet way of competing with a 6 yr old? Drawing of course! The problem is when you realise he’s better than you at sketching the animal kingdom. Try checking out this link on flickr ; you may find it quite amusing to see what happens when a simple gemoetrical shape actually transforms into a living thing!

Bowling the Parisian Way…
One thing I adore about this city’s night life is it’s love for exentirc themed parties – and last night’s was no exception! The ‘Le Lebowski Show’ at the Foch bowling club next to the grand Arch de Triumph saw a bowling alley filled with all the who’s who of Paris’ party and glamor scene!
The concept was pretty straight forward – come to support your favorite team – Blitz Tequila • Canal+ • Club Sandwich • Elite • Grazia • Le Palais de Tokyo • La Maison Michel • La Clique • Le Crazy Horse • Klay L’Éclaireur • L’Officiel • Les Productions du Trésor • Vodka Belvedere • Intersection (all of which happen to be teams of some of the best party organizers in the city!).
Throw in some awesome retro music, a cocktail-filled bar and fashion fashion fashion!!! Only in Paris can ten-pin bowling become a fashion statement – and Chanel was every where!!
All ten pins were most probably knocked down here….Strangely I was more interested in the party itself than keeping track of the score….(apologies to all sports fans out there)
Just in case you ever wondered what to wear to a ten-pin bowling match in Paris….something a little loose and comfy and some protective head accessories…
This event was organised by “hmm!”
I have no idea who won, but I certainly had a blast – I think I may sign up for bowling lessons….only if they let me play in high heels and carry a Chanel over my shoulder!
